International Rectifier’s new M3GB series: 120 V \/ 40 Watt DC\/DC converters designed to power satellites for 15 years or more.
\nInternational Rectifier, specialist in HiRel (High-Reliability \/ High-Reliability) solutions for extreme environments, completes its range of DC\/DC converters by bringing to the market a new series of 120 V DC\/DC products up to 40 Watts of power.<\/p>\n

The advantages of the M3GB series<\/strong><\/p>\n

The M3GB series is a range of DC\/DC converters designed for extreme environments such as space. These converters are particularly suitable for use in satellites, where the minimum required lifetime is 15 years.
\nThe M3G120 series has been designed based on the design methodology of the M3G series whose reliability has been proven many times in the space industry. This design is based on the use of the most reliable components with proven radiation performance that meet NASA requirements such as EEE-INST-002 and MIL-STD-1547B.<\/p>\n

Features of the M3GB Series<\/strong><\/p>\n

The input voltage range is 95 to 140 Vdc with a transient up to 160 Vdc.
\nThe M3GB series DC\/DC converters offer a single-output version and a dual-output version. The output voltages (single-output models) offered are standard: 3.3 Vdc, 5 Vdc, 12 Vdc, 15 Vdc and 28 Vdc. The output voltages (dual output models) available are: \u00b1 5V, \u00b1 12V and \u00b1 15V.
\nThe M3GB series converters are protected against input undervoltages, a sync input\/output and on\/off control via the converter’s inhibit pin. These products comply with the MIL-PRF-38534 Class K hybrid standard.<\/p>\n

TID (Total Ionization Dose) greater than 200 krad (Si), SEE (Single Event Effect) and integrated EMI filtering complete these features.
\nThe M3GB series is very compact: it comes in a hermetically sealed package with dimensions of 3.5″ x 2.5″ x 0.475″ (including pins), for a weight of 110 g.<\/p>\n
